Melissa Anne Murray, Esquire is the founding member of The Law Offices of Melissa Anne Murray, PA. An Atlanta, Georgia native, she received a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama. While obtaining a Juris Doctorate from Barry University School of Law, Ms. Melissa Murray also ventured in acquiescing her Masters of Business Administration. During her tenure at Barry University School of Law, she was an active member of the Hispanic Association of Law Students, and Trial Advocacy Team Association. After obtaining her Juris Doctorate and Master Degrees, she obtained a Degree in Advanced Legal Studies in 2004 from Nova Southeastern School of Law. Ms. Melissa Murray has assisted in vigorously representing hospitals throughout the United States with expansive knowledge in hospital collections, appeals, workers comp and negligence. In representing those hospitals, she assisted the hospitals to improve their management and revenue goals of nearly all the reimbursement and payment issues. Additionally, she has assisted various governmental institutions and municipalities to ensure their compliance with the Telecommunications Act of 1996.
Aside from being the financial and managing partner for the firm, Ms. Melissa Murray also handles family and marital law, wills, including powers of attorney, living wills, health care surrogate and family planning, all aspects of real estate closings, including representation of both buyers and sellers. Ms. Murray also represents debtor’s rights by assisting them to reduce or restructure their debt via bankruptcy, loan workouts and/or debt settlements. In addition, she is also an advocate against domestic violence and represents these clients zealously throughout this extremely sensitive process in court. Furthermore, Ms. Murray also handles the area of Criminal Defense, including but not limited to non-violent offenses and domestic violence.
Ms. Murray is a licensed member of both the Florida Bar and the Federal Bar, including the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts . She is also a member of the Broward and Palm Beach Real Estate Councils, Broward & Palm Beach County Bar Associations, Christian Lawyers Association, and the Broward and Palm Beach Women’s Law Association. Ms. Murray is also bilingual (Spanish and English). She devotes much of her time to advocate a cure for Alzheimers, as she was guardian to her grandmother with this disease when she passed away at the end of 2014. She is also a volunteer with the American Cancer Society, as her father and Mentor to her legal career passed away of cancer in March 2016. She also spends much of her time to volunteer in the community through her Church, Christ Fellowship of Boynton Beach. Ms. Murray resides in Palm Beach County with her family.
